Still Waiting

If we excuse ourselves from serving because the need is greater than our capacity, our excuse is a poor one. While we might not be able to do everything, we can do something.

When Sparrows Fly

Just yesterday after Jack Sparrow made his swift exit, I went out the front door to see if I could catch another glimpse of him. Maybe he would stay around the house?

The Chips Will Fall

It's hard to live out our convictions in an increasingly hostile world - and I'm not only talking about the hostility we see on the news or internet. In our personal, day-to-day lives it's not uncommon to come face-to-face with intense rejection any time we choose to go against the grain of what is "the norm."

It Was Good

So what is it that keeps me going when giving up sorely tempts me to walk away? I can answer this question with a question: What is there to go back to?

The Blessing

Wherever you are as you read this, I pray your eyes be open to the least of those that surround you in your world. I don’t have long, drawn-out answers to explain away the pain of this world. This world we live in is waiting for its redemption from the grasp of sin, until that day God’s answer to suffering lies in the hands of us, His children.

When Sparrows Fall

It Felt Like…Losing The Dream

One of the most important things a dream does is not for us, but what it can do for others. God never puts a dream in our hearts that won't spill out and reach others with His love. When the dream God puts in you resurrects another's dream that has died, you have passed the test.

You Don’t Have to Wear the Panty Hose

The simplicity of Africa has spared me from the confusion of having to face the "new and improved." I only want a tube of toothpaste when entering the store. What I don't want to face is feeling as if I have to make a major life decision between brands and their sub-brands.

Our Normal, A Road Less Traveled

Most young couples dream of building careers, buying property and weekend barbecues. Us? We were busy trying to book cheap flights, set up international vaccination appointments and get our passports.
