It’s a crazy world we live in right now. It seems there’s a news story every day that makes me wonder how much crazier it can get; all of this news can also tempt me to fear.
Everyone’s afraid of something: snakes, the dark, failing a test, missing a mortgage or rent payment, in laws… It’s natural to be afraid of something; what’s not natural for the child of God is to live in fear of “What if the worst happens?”
Take a moment to consider, what if the worst really did happen? What if a greater financial crisis than 2008 hit tomorrow or another world war broke out? What would we do? What could we do?
While we may think of and hope such a time never hits, in order to see this in a different light we could say:
God is still in control even if a greater financial crisis than 2008 hit tomorrow or another world war broke out. He sees us, He knows us, He calls us by name – don’t for one minute even be tempted to think He doesn’t care! He does and He cares for you!
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT “‘For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’”
